photos bragaBraga is the oldest Portuguese cities and one of the oldest Christian cities of the world based on time of the Romans as Augusta Bracara, has more than 2000 years of history as a city. Located in northern Portugal, more specifically in the Valley Cávado, Braga has 175 063 inhabitants in the county (2007) being the center of the region Minhota over one million inhabitants (2007). It is a city full of culture and traditions, where history and religion live side by side with the technology industry. In popular jargon is known as the City of Archbishops, for centuries the archbishop was the most important of the Iberian Peninsula is still the old keeper of the title of Primate of the Spains. It is also considered as the largest center of religious study in Portugal The city is closely linked to the whole Minho: the north is the traditional Alto Minho, in the East National Park Peneda-Gerês the South the land of manors Basto and Industrial Ave and the west coast sea Minho.
