park montesinhoBragança is a Portuguese city, capital of the District of Bragança, Northern Region and subregion of the High Trás-os-Montes, in the city with 20 309 and 25 thousand inhabitants in the urban perimeter. It is home to one of the Portuguese municipalities with larger area, with 1 173.93 km ² of area and 34 628 inhabitants (2006). The municipality is limited to the north and east by Spain (provinces of Ourense and Zamora), the southeast by the municipality of Vimioso the southwest by Macedo de Cavaleiros and west by vineyards and the towns of northern Portugal Continental one more (which is more to the north ). The Celts baptized the city, founded in the II century BC with the name of Brigantia, which was to become the Romanize Bragança. This name is the ethnic origin of the more common: brigantina. Its reference to the Park Montesinho one of the most beautiful of Portugal.
