Beira Litoral

The Beira Litoral is bordered to the north to the Douro Litoral, in the East with the Beira Alta and Beira Baixa, the Southeast with the Ribatejo, Estremadura to the southwest and west by the Atlantic Ocean. It has its headquarters in the city of Coimbra and is distributed by the District of Aveiro, Distrito de Coimbra, Distrito de Leiria, Distrito de Santarém. Its emphasis is flattened along the rocky coast and the interior (saws). It is an area rich in industrial activity to the detriment of agriculture, rich in architectural beauty and where the oldest establishment of higher education in the country and one of the oldest in Europe which is the University of Coimbra.
